The History

In 1989 a new restaurant belonging to the "Arcigola Slowfood Club" opened in the medieval centre of Montescudaio that eventuated over the years into a meeting place for lovers of fine cuisine. In 1994, Giorgio Scarpa and Barbara Gentile decided to manage the premises by themselves yet still continue to participate with the Arcigola activity. It is only since the year 2000 that Giorgio moves into the kitchen giving himself maximum space for creativity. The chef sets the daily menu depending of the seasonal availability of the basic ingredients, guaranteeing therefore, genuine high quality dishes. Barbara, sommelier FISAR (Italian Wine Waiters Federation), recommends the combination of wines, establishing with clients a friendly relationship and reciprocal faith. Over the years Giorgio and Barbara have received certificates and recognition nationally and internationally for their capacity and for their constant pursuit of primary products and new wines present on the market.
